How to Make Painting with your Toddler Boy a Breeze
My boys love painting!
Me… not so much. At least until I got the proper set up that makes setting up and cleaning up a breeze.
If you think you’ll have a fair bit of painting in your future, my first recommendation would be to invest in a great easel.
We probably paint 3-5 times/week in my house so an easel was definitely warranted.
We have this one from Melissa and Doug.
We put it outside on the patio, so it’s a great way for the kids to get fresh air/outside time and also less worry about messes.
They also sell this companion set – which I’d highly recommend. It comes with the paint cups, brushes, paper roll, chalk, marker, and an eraser. All these accessories make setting up so easy!
Once you’re all set and ready to go, just fill your paint cups with paint and go for it. This is a great activity for practicing colors, experimenting with mixing colors, drawing shapes, and I’ve just always thought painting was relaxing and therapeutic.
We put on some music and have lots of fun making art 🙂
Hope you enjoy as well!
